Francis Hartridge Hambledon Hampshire

1882

Francis Hartridge purchases the Alliance Brewery in Hampshire. As well as brewing beer he starts making soft drinks, packaged under his name. Hartridges soft drinks.

Austin and Edward Hartridge Hambledon Hampshire

1936

Francis’ sons, Austin & Edward Hartridge take over the business and it continues to expand as other breweries and soft drinks companies close.

Bomb damage to the Hartridges Brewery in the second world war

1940

During the Second World War a German bomber dropped one of its bombs onto the factory. The brewery is destroyed whilst the soft drinks plant is spared. The business from that day on focusses only on soft drinks.

1952

The austere post war years were difficult but with the family trait of perseverance, they rebuilt and expanded the soft drinks business. Led now by Geoffrey, a third generation Hartridge.

1980

The fourth generation of Chris, Martin and Geoffrey continued to expand the bottle business whilst also venturing successfully into draught dispensed drinks for the first time.

Now with a decades experience in dispense under their belts, the brothers increase the range of flavours available on draught to include tonics, juices and cordials.
